ME: Perfect Order FAQ
Well, it’s already time for another set of FAQs as Ascended Heroes is quickly followed by the Perfect Order set. We have a number of rulings for you to use at your Prerelease events and afterwards.
One thing that did not make it into the FAQs, but players and judges should be aware of, is some restrictions on playing Fossil cards. While the card says to play them from your hand as a Basic Pokemon, you are still playing a Trainer and you cannot play a Trainer during set up!
So, you cannot play a Fossil card during set up; either as your starting Pokemon, or as a Benched Pokemon.
Here is an existing ruling on that concept:

And now, here are the rulings for Perfect Order:
POKEMON ABILITIES
== GRAND WING (Vivillon – ME:Perfect Order)
Q. If my opponent has zero cards in their hand, can I use Vivillon’s “Grand Wing” Ability even though it won’t do anything?
A. No. If they have no cards in their hand, you can’t use the Ability.
== INFINITE SHADOW (Gengar – ME:Perfect Order)
Q. If my Gengar with “Infinite Shadow” Ability is Knocked Out by damage from my opponent’s attack and I put it into my hand, does the opponent get to take a Prize for it?
A. Yes. It was still Knocked Out even though Gengar is going to your hand instead of to the discard pile.
Q. If my Gengar with “Infinite Shadow” Ability is Knocked Out by damage from my opponent’s attack, do I also put the underlying Gastly & Haunter cards into my hand or just the Gengar card?
A. The phrase “this Pokemon” includes the underlying Basic & Stage cards that got it to the point of being Gengar, so those underlying cards would get put into your hand as well.
== LUMINOUS WING (Mega Clefable ex – ME:Perfect Order)
Q. What happens if both Mega Clefable ex with the “Luminous Wing” Ability and Iron Thorns ex with the “Initialization” Ability are in play?
A. Luminous Wing takes precedence over Initialization. It doesn’t matter which one comes into play first.
== SHELL SPIKES (Turtonator – ME:Perfect Order)
Q. If I have a Turtonator with “Shell Spikes” Ability active, what happens if it gets damaged by an opponent’s attack by a Pokemon that has a Mist Energy attached to it?
A. Mist Energy only prevents effects of attacks and Shell Spikes is an Ability, so you will get to discard your choice of an energy card from the attacking Pokemon.
== SNIPER’S EYE (Decidueye ex – ME:Perfect Order)
Q. If I have Relicanth with the “Memory Dive” Ability in play and my opponent has 4 cards in their hand, can my Decidueye ex with “Sniper’s Eye” Ability use its underlying Dartrix’s “Feather Shot” attack for no energy?
A. Yes. Sniper’s Eye removes all colorless energy costs from any attack that Decidueye ex can use.
== WASH OUT (Dewgong – ME:Perfect Order)
Q. Can I move a special energy card like Legacy Energy with Dewgong’s “Wash Out” Ability?
A. Yes, as long as the Energy card is providing {W} Energy. It does not specify that the energy card has to be Basic.
POKEMON ATTACKS
== DOUBLE EATER (Mawile – ME:Perfect Order)
Q. If I use Mawile’s “Double Eater” attack, can I discard zero energy cards from my hand if I want to?
A. Yes you can, and then it would do zero damage. But it would still count as doing an attack.
== MEMORY LOCK (Klefli – ME:Perfect Order)
Q. If I use Klefki’s “Memory Lock” attack on my opponent’s Active Pokemon and they Retreat and Switch that same Pokemon back to the Active spot, can they use the chosen attack?
A. Yes, they can. Even though the term “Active Pokemon” was used, the “lock” is still an attack effect that gets removed when that Pokemon goes to the Bench.”
== NASTY PLOT (Salazzle ex – ME:Perfect Order)
Q. If I use Salazzle ex’s “Nasty Plot” attack and don’t find a card that I want in my deck, can I choose to take zero cards?
A. No, you have to take at least one card if there are any cards in your deck.
== NULLIFYING ZERO (Mega Zygarde ex – ME:Perfect Order)
Q. How does it work if I use Mega Zygarde ex’s “Nullifying Zero” attack and my opponent has any Benched Pokemon?
A. You would flip a coin for each and every Pokemon they have in play. It does not matter the order of which the Pokemon can be chosen. Choose the first Pokemon and if you get heads you put 150 damage on that Pokemon, then move on to the next one. Note that Tera Pokemon can’t be damaged on the Bench, but you would still flip for them.
== SAND ATTACK (Hippopotas – ME:Perfect Order)
Q. If my opponent used Hippopotas’ “Sand Attack” last turn and my Active Pokemon is Confused, do I get to choose which effect I would flip for first when I attack?
A. You would flip for Sand Attack’s effect first, then flip for Confusion.
== SEND FLOWERS (Shaymin – ME:Perfect Order)
Q. Can Shaymin’s “Send Flowers” attack search for Special Energy as well as Basic Energy?
A. Yes, the attack does not specify the Energy card has to be of any type.
== SOLAR COILING (Serperior – ME:Perfect Order)
Q. If I use Serperior’s “Solar Coiling” attack and I have 2 copies of Rosa’s Encouragement in my discard pile, do I do 300 more damage?
A. No. It just checks if any Rosa’s Encouragement is in the discard pile; it doesn’t matter how many are there. The attack would only do 150 more damage.
== WEAPONIZED SWORDS (Doublade – ME:Perfect Order)
Q. If I used Doublade’s “Weaponized Swords” attack and one of the cards I revealed was an Aegislash ex, would I do an extra 60 for it?
A. No, the names of the cards revealed must be an exact match of those listed; “Aegislash ex” is not the same as “Aegislash”.
ENERGY CARDS
== GROWING {G} ENERGY (ME:Perfect Order)
Q. If I have three Growing {G} Energy attached to one of my Grass Pokemon, do I get a bonus of +60 HP?
A. Yes. The effect will stack.
== TELEPATHIC {P} ENERGY (ME:Perfect Order)
Q. If my Bench is full and I attach Telepathic {P} Energy to one of my Psychic Pokemon, do I still search and shuffle my deck?
A. No, if your Bench is full you cannot search or shuffle your deck. However, if your Bench is not full you must search and shuffle your deck. You can fail the search if you want, of course.
